The idea of creating an archive of my magazine photography publications has lingered in my mind for quite some time. This would be a meaningful way to remember my work. My collection slowly expands and this place would be a cherished way to revisit my artistic milestones.
In 2011, while backpacking through Crimea, I captured a photo of the threshold near the Djur-Djur waterfall. To my delight, editors at the UK magazine ’Digital Photo’ selected it for publication in their November 2012 issue. My photo found a distinguished spot under the ’Camera Skills’ section of a landscape photography article in the magazine, which they also kindly sent me.
Though the ‘Practical Photography’ magazine may have shuttered its print edition in 2020, its legacy lives on through its website, social media, and, more importantly for me, the memory of having my work featured within its pages. Back in November 2014, the editors caught wind of my golden-hued squirrel photo and, to my absolute delight, expressed interest in publishing it. I still cherish the experience. It fueled my passion for photography and served as a reminder that even the smallest creatures, frozen in a perfect moment, can hold something truly captivating.
Below is a photo taken near the river in Kharkiv. My dog Maya first noticed this lizard, and then, together with Erka, they lured her out of the bushes to take some pictures. But, there was little time for everything and she safely escaped from us back into the bushes. Both photos (of the lizard and the gecko above) are featured in the December issue of ‘Digital Photo (UK)’ under the heading ’Big Shots’ with my comments about these photos and camera settings.
Another magazine was sent to me one day, this time it was ‘Digital SLR Photography’ from March 2013, in which they placed two small photos of my cat Masya and dog Maya in the category of animal photography (Pets in focus).
My photograph was featured in the June 2013 edition of National Geographic Ukraine (Your shot), showcasing the beauty of an Indian bull and its capability to transform its tongue into a tool to clean noses:)
Published in 2013, ‘Svet ptic’ is a magazine dedicated to the captivating world of birds. As a passionate birdwatcher and photographer myself, I was particularly drawn to this publication’s focus on avian conservation and its commitment to showcasing stunning bird photography.
My photographs of a beautiful Crimean waterfall Djur-Djur were featured in ‘Crimean Treasure Peninsula’ magazine back in 2013, capturing its beauty during the fall season.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the editors who have chosen to include my photographs in their publications. It is truly an honor to have my work showcased in such esteemed platforms, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to share my vision with wider audiences. Thank you!
